Cherokee Rose Big Lighter Cover

Cherokee Rose Big Lighter Cover by Grandma Marilyn's Instant Access!
My Bead Angel, Pat Tipton aka Mama Hen, suggested that I go ahead and use her pattern to make a lighter cover for my customers. Here is the result of that request. I love the pattern. It is so lovely. Pat did a wonderful job with the original that I had to tweek to fit into a lighter cover for my friends. I hope you will enjoy beading it as much as Pat and I enjoyed creating it. This cover will fit a large Bic.

Legend of the Cherokee Rose
When the Trail of Tears started in 1838, the mothers of the Cherokee were grieving and crying so much, they were unable to help their children survive the journey. The elders prayed for a sign that would lift the mother’s spirits to give them strength. The next day a beautiful rose began to grow where each of the mother’s tears fell. The rose is white for their tears; a gold center represents the gold taken from Cherokee lands, and seven leaves on each stem for the seven Cherokee clans. The wild Cherokee Rose grows along the route of the Trail of Tears into eastern Oklahoma today.

This pattern has alphabetic characters for the bead color to make the word chart easier to read.

My Bead Angel, Pat Tipton aka Mama Hen, beaded this beautiful big lighter cover for me. I asked her what she thought about what I had done with her pattern and was answered that she loved it

I have already published the Filet Rose lighter cover for the BIC mini lighter.  This is the lighter cover for the BIC big lighter.  As with the mini lighter cover, this cover was created in three colors, red, green and black.

Unlike my other accessory patterns, this one is odd count as Joan added an extra row to the end.  We are working on a longer even count version.

This pattern has alphabetic characters for the bead color to make the word chart easier to read.
